Mother Courage

Lead Carpenter

Mother Courage was one of my favorite shows to work on. While the scenery may not have been very large it came with some very interesting challenges. Due to the limited budget of the show we spent most of our money on new softgoods. This left the wagon and trees that were the bulk of our fabrication work; the wagon was built with an old carriage we had that we outfitted to a steel frame with new axles and wheels we built in the shop. As for the trees, those were donated by a faculty member who recently had trees cut down in his yard. This lead to me teaching my team how to cut and carve with a chainsaw. When we loaded in this show I oversaw all of the rigging and then acted as crew cheif through the run.
